RIP, Pete Fornatale

www.nytimes.com/2012/04/27/arts/music/pete-fornatale-a-pioneer-of-fm-rock-dies-at-66.html?_r=1&smid=tw-nytimesobituary&seid=auto

I just started following the "NYT Obits" on Twitter, and this came up yesterday. Pete Fornatale was one of the "Dream Team" of DJs I used to listen to on WNEW when I first came to the city in 1980—it included Vin Scelsa, Meg Griffin, Dennis Elsas, Scott Muni; I don't remember listening to Alison Steele ("The Nightbird") at that time, although I remember when she moved to WNEW-AM and I would sometimes hear her on the overnight when I took a cab home.

Of course, WFUV was his first and last home, so they're dedicating their home page to remembering him right now. I admit I want to hear Vin Scelsa's take on it.
